School of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences


The School of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences (SAHUSS) is envisioned to become a premiere centre for inter-disciplinary perspectives drawing mainly from the study of arts, humanities and social sciences with a special attention in Asian studies.

The core objective of SAHUSS is to enhance the arts, humanities and social sciences studies for a global reach and career advancement of its graduates. SAHUSS aims to enrich the academic and cultural experience of students and scholars with a view to develop a better understanding of our diversity of cultures, history, politics, institutions, economic, laws and policies. Among the areas of study include arts and design, culture studies, psychology, sociology, journalism history, languages, philosophy, and religion.

SAHUSS aspires to deepen interest and understanding of the Asian region’s arts, humanities and social sciences among its graduates, and provide them with an awareness of the region’s current prospects and issues.


The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHUSS) set up in 2011 is the latest addition at Asia e University. Despite its young age the school offers the broadest scope of studies including arts, humanitie and social research on aspects of psychology and sociology, communications, linguistics, politics, religion and other social science related studies.

The school is offering the PhD degree in Arts (with research areas in Arts, Humanities and Social Science), Masters of Social Sciences (by Research), Master of Humanities and Arts (by Research), Bachelor of Education (Teaching Islamic Studies in Primary School) and Diploma Islamic Studies. More courses will be introduced from time to time in collaboration with local and foreign institutions.

The region known as " Asia" can be defined in various ways, but the "core" countries are China, Japan, Korea and the ASEAN nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines), South Asia (India, Sri Lanka) and Central Asia. Together, they make up one of the most diverse and important regions in the world.

SAHUSS is now focusing on its niche area in Asian Studies through its PhD, Master of Humanities and Arts (MHA) and Master of Social Sciences programmes. SAHUSS’ research concentration in Asia Region is able to meet the research demand  in Arts, Humanities in Sciences of  33 ACD countries. SAHUSS is playng  a significant role in  offering relevant programmes in Arts, humanities and social research under  ODL and MEdO , Government TP initiatives. In Asia, there is a strong  urge for Asian Countries to invest in Social Issues.

SAHUSS’ Masters and doctoral  degree  are  intended for applicants who wish to take an interdisciplinary studies in Asian region. It is designed for those seeking a career requiring an advanced understanding of the region.
