Certificate in Intensive English Programme (CIEP)

The Certificate in Intensive English Programme (CIEP) is offered by the School of Foundation Studies, Asia e University, to enable you to acquire an acceptable proficiency level of English. CIEP helps you to develop your mastery of the English language to fulfill your personal, professional or educational needs. You will learn to communicate effectively in English in a wide range of real-life situations, from daily conversations with friends to discussions with fellow colleagues. It will improve your ability in expressing your opinion and ideas, and participating in class or business discussions confidently. The programme consists of three levels, from the very basic to the professional levels.

AeU was established as an International University, initiated by Malaysia, and endorsed by Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) members to provide affordable Higher Education in Asia. Hence, AeU acknowledges the important role that English language plays in achieving academic collaboration with local and international universities, institutions and corporations. English is recognised as an international language to bridge the language gap between different countries. In order to achieve its mission to provide quality Higher Education and Lifelong Learning, AeU leverages on its partners’ strength, expertise, prestige and resources, through the collaboration with Cambridge ESOL, AeU offers a 3-level intensive English programme which is affordable and of quality for Asians. Teachers are well trained and qualified to deliver the programme to meet the personal, professional or educational needs of students seeking English proficiency for further studies and career advancement.

WHO IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR?

CIEP is specially designed for:

  • People who want to use English for work or study purposes
  • People who want to improve the proficiency level of English to realise personal, professional or educational goals

Note : A test will be conducted to assess applicants’ proficiency to ascertain their placement at the
appropriate level of study.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

CIEP consists of 3 major levels, namely Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced, and each
level is further divided into 3 sub-levels.

Each sub-level requires a minimum of 120 learning hours. There will be an evaluation to assess the language proficiency of students at the end of each sub-level.

The programme addresses the four important areas of language skills namely - Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.
