Train & Place Programme Year End Bash
On the 23rd of December 2009, Train and Place trainees from Batch 10 to 17 celebrated the Year End Bash at AeU. The event was organised by a committee which consisted of trainees and STEER personnel. Approximately 120 trainees were involved and participated in the activities.
It must also be noted that five (5) staff children were also involved as Facilitators. Their ‘automatic’ participation in the Year End Bash was due to the fact that they were part of the Train and Place Holiday Camp which was targeted at staff children who were on their school breaks and attended Train and Place classes at AeU. On top of that, 24 staff children as young as 4 years old also joined in the festivities of the event.
The activities that were carried out were: World Cultures, Act It Out and Egg Drop. The decision to include which activity was quite difficult to make because there were six proposals from the trainees that we had to vet through – some were very creative and fun but had to be abandoned due to lack of resources. Nevertheless, as can be seen from the pictures, the trainees had lots of fun and applied what they learned in class in the activities that we decided on.
The certificate presentation at 4.30pm was attended by YB Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ansary Ahmed, President and CEO of AeU, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adilah Abdul Hamid. A total of 270 certificates were printed out, which consisted of Certificates of Completion for the Train and Place trainees from Batch 8, 9, 10 and 12 as well as Certificates of Completion and Excellence for the BPO Module from Batch 6, 7, 8 and 9.
Apart from hampers for the winning teams, presents for special categories such as the most active participants, best “nanny of the day”, the cutest participants, best dressed participant etc were also given away.
