Academic Fellow

Job Responsibilities:

Supervision:

The Academic Fellow is responsible for guiding the student in planning their research and dissertation/thesis preparation. The following are some aspects of the responsibilities:

  • Guides the student in the selection and planning of an original research topic.
  • Establishes with the student a realistic timetable for completion of the various phases.
  • Ensures that student has an understanding of the relevant theories and the methodological and technical skills necessary.
  • Ensure quality of supervision.
  • Submits a half-yearly Progress Report on the student’s research progress.
  • Attends the student’s research proposal defense.
  • Attends the student’s viva voce examination.

Teaching and Facilitation:

  • Teaching and facilitating modules inclusive of the development, uploading and overall programme of the LMS of the subjects assigned.
  • To be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the modules assigned.

Programme Administration & Development

  • To assist the Dean in the general administration, coordination, academic counselling and monitoring of students’ academic performances.
  • To assist the Dean by providing inputs and suggestions in the review of the School’s existing and new programmes.
  • To assist the Dean by providing inputs and documentation in the accreditation of school programmes

Research and Publication

  • To conduct research and write academic papers for discussions, conferences and publications in academic forum and journals.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Doctoral qualification in related field.
  • Retired Professor from IPTA are welcome to apply.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an academia in an established and reputable institution of higher learning.
  • Experience in supervision of Doctoral students.
  • Interest and/or experience in student support and performance issues.
